Welcome to Omega Studio.
This is an unusual gallery-shop in that it combines both contemporary and mid-century jewellery, art, glass, ceramics, wood and furniture for those with a discerning eye and a love of things that have a good design ethic. Set on the seafront in St. Leonards on Sea (next to Hastings), close to a range of other galleries and good eateries, Omega studio is light and airy and a treat to visit. The stock is constantly changing with new lines being added all the time. We are also pleased to feature designer-makers from around the country.
From an early age I have been, Jackdaw like, drawn to jewellery – not just the glittery stuff - but the interesting and bold !
I think it’s fun and interesting to mix the contemporary with designer jewellery from the past. Good design is essentially timeless and pieces from the Arts and Crafts Movement or the 1930’s sit well with many contemporary designs of today.
Amongst modern designers I feature:
Hila Rawet Karni
Plus a selection of Polish contemporary jewellery garnered through Deco Echo.
Prices are very accessible.
We currently have a fabulous array of textiles - scarves by Wallace & Sewell, Kapri and beautiful felt bags by Michelle Jarvis
Art at Omega Studio is an ever changing feature with paintings, drawings, monotypes, etchings, and lithographs featuring at any given time. Most of the two dimensional works are from the 1940’s through to contemporary artists. We have recently featured an exhibition of works by Sally Cole who references rugged landscapes in her considered and beautifully produces works.
There are so many good ceramics to be found these days it is hard to know where to stop!
Bold simple designs with interesting glazes; Studio Pottery; quality German pottery from the 1960’s; Arabia; Royal Lancastrian; Bretby; Rye Pottery; Poole; Honiton; Danish and Swedish pieces. A feast for those with an interest!
